It was created by Carl Barnes, a part-Cherokee
farmer in Oklahoma, back in the 1980’s from a
cross between Native American corns. It
typically has 3″ to 8″ cobs with translucent
kernels in a variety of colors. It is edible, but
not sweet off the cob, and can be used for flour,
popcorn, or as an ornamental decoration.
